Welfare Costs

If the matter relates to a property and affairs Deputyship, work in respect of health or welfare issues will not be allowed, except in the most exceptional circumstances. It is important therefore that, provided it is consistent with the time spent/work done, file notes emphasise the financial aspects of the work, as opposed to any health or welfare issues. If there was an element of health or welfare issues dealt with in the time spent that you do not consider it appropriate to charge for, say what part of the time you are not charging for and why. If, on the other hand, you do consider it appropriate to charge for the health and welfare work, say how the issues impacted upon the Protected Party’s finances in order to justify a charge being made.
