Justifying Costs
Any unusual courses of action, or claims for time, should be fully justified in the file note. For example, if it was necessary to visit the Protected Party’s home several times in the period concerned, explain the reasons why. If there is any doubt in the Costs Officer’s mind about whether costs were reasonably incurred or reasonable in amount, they may be reduced or disallowed completely.
